Welcome to Hartwell

Hartwell is a former farmhouse in Sydenham Damerel near to Tavistock in West Devon, which is within the attractive "Tamar Valley Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty."  We’re just 10 minutes drive from the edge of Dartmoor and 5 minutes from the Cornish border. 

The house has 5 bedrooms and comfortably sleeps 10 people. It's available for a limited number of weekly holiday rentals or short breaks. 

There's a good sized kitchen with a cosy Rayburn and farmhouse table for family meals, plus 2 living rooms, each with a wood burning stove for you to relax next to. Furniture is mostly antique or older style.

Our large well maintained garden has several different areas to explore, play, dine or snooze! These include a 1 acre meadow with room for the family to let off some steam, a smaller enclosed garden with lawn and patio for outside dining, a parterre garden, a hammock by the fishpond, a summerhouse overlooking the surrounding countryside, and a 'sun trap' area around our 10 x 5m heated outdoor swimming pool. The pool is included with all bookings between May and October. 

Hartwell is an ideal location to stay put and relax, or to base yourself while you explore the many delights of Devon and Cornwall.
